Hilton Garden Inn Annapolis Downtown

174 West Street

Annapolis, Maryland 21401

We have a special summer rate of $159(+ 13% tax) at the Hilton Garden Inn Annapolis Downtown, which is located in the Arts District.  (Note:  There are two “Hilton Garden Inn” locations in Annapolis – make sure you are staying in the Downtown location!)

July is peak tourist season, and this is a very low rate for summer, so reserve now!  Remember our new optional boatyard field trip is planned for Monday. In case you want to stretch your visit a bit, our room rate is good starting Sunday night through Thursday night.

This hotel, opened in 2018, features rooms with mini-fridge, microwave and complimentary WiFi, as well as a 24-hour fitness center, and a welcoming lobby and bar.  Check in:  3 pm.  Check out:  noon.  Parking is limited to valet only at $26/day, but the Knighton Garage is across the street for $10/night (no in/out).

Transportation

Air:  We encourage participants to use Baltimore airport (BWI).  At 24 miles away (but with easy traffic), it’s the closest option, and as a Southwest Airline hub, offers many flight options.  Reagan Washington National airport (DCA) is located near downtown DC, and although it’s 37 miles away it usually has bad traffic and takes more than an hour.  Dulles (IAD) is on the other side of DC, more than 60 miles, and can take 2 hours in transport.

Rail:  Closest Amtrak station is BWI Rail Station, just a few miles from the airport.

From Airport/Train Station:  Uber and Lyft are good options from BWI and are about $40 one way, less than the airport van shuttle.

Rental Cars:  BWI’s rental cars are all located offsite, a short shuttle bus ride away.  If you just want a car for a day, there are rental car options in Annapolis.  Otherwise, for this event, you really don’t need a car.

Annapolis

Founded in 1649, Annapolis is a charming colonial city, easily accessible to Baltimore (BWI) airport for flyers, I-95 for drivers, and the Chesapeake Bay for boaters.

Our walkable streets have some of the finest examples of 17th and 18th century buildings in the country, and a great array of restaurants, pubs, shops, as well as the U.S. Naval Academy and St. John’s College.

Your class will be held at  ABYC Headquarters, 613 Third Street, Annapolis, MD 21403.  Our building is located in a charming maritime-zoned district and residential peninsula called Eastport, less than 2 miles – and walkable - from your hotel. We also recommend Lyft or Uber  For those who are driving, we do have plenty of free parking on the street and under the building.

To get around near the hotel, Annapolis has a free “Circulator Bus” which runs around the central business and tourism district every 20 minutes.  It operates during the week from 7:30 am to 11 pm.
