Why did you change the format?

We polled our audience and discovered, what worked well in the past wasn't going to work this year. We chose a new model of a monthly subscription-based series to allow for educators to take their summer time off (and away from their screens) and also to learn at their own pace if they desire.

Who is this event for?

The ABYC Foundation Educator Training Webinar Series is designed for those who are already teaching about boats, those developing a new program, as well as school administrators, and industry professionals who want to connect with the trainers. The majority of our participants are in the U.S., with a few from other countries and islands. All sessions will be in English.

What can I expect to take away from this series?

  • A current picture of the recreational marine industry

  • Data points to share with students, parents, and administration showing the need for your program, and the worker deficit in this field.

  • Survey results from marine industry companies indicating what they see hiring, what they are looking for in your graduates, and what they’d like to tell instructors

  • Specific “aha” ideas about how to better teach Career and Technical Education

  • Insights into how people learn, to infuse into your next year of teaching 

  • Teaching Aids: Electricity is our focus this year and how to better teach the basics

  • Resources: You don’t have to invent everything to teach about boats; we’ll share some of our favorites

  • A larger peer network

  • Access to recorded sessions for the next 11 months

  • Nine (9) CEUs (one per session), some smiles from our corny humor, and potentially a door prize from the live events


When is the series?
The Educator Training Webinar Series launches on September 20, and continues monthly through May.

Is the event being recorded?

Yes! When you purchase a subscription, you will have access to the monthly live events and a recording of the event, available through the year. If you can't attend the live webinar, see below. But, in short, you can simply watch the recording later. 


What if I can’t participate one month?
Unfortunately, you won’t be eligible for door prizes, but you will have 11 months to access the recorded sessions.
