Industry Insights

Who is this event for?

The ABYC Foundation Educator Training Conference is designed for those who are already teaching about boats, those developing a new program, as well as school administrators, and industry professionals who want to connect with the trainers. The majority of our participants are in the U.S., with a few from other countries and islands. All sessions will be in English.

What can I expect to take away from this series?

  • A current picture of the recreational marine industry

  • Data points to share with students, parents, and administration showing the need for your program, and the worker deficit in this field.

  • Survey results from marine industry companies indicating what they see hiring, what they are looking for in your graduates, and what they’d like to tell instructors

  • Specific “aha” ideas about how to better teach Career and Technical Education

  • Insights into how people learn, to infuse into your next year of teaching

  • Resources: You don’t have to invent everything to teach about boats; we’ll share some of our favorites

  • A larger peer network
